KPD KO

I've always been convinced that police need much more extensive hand to hand combat training than what they currently receive. It allows for more options outside of drawing weapons and minimizes injury and the potential for losing one's weapon. THIS is a pretty good example. This fight came out of nowhere but the cops should have been on guard, especially considering the circumstances surrounding the call.

Who says boards and bricks dont hit back?

they are wrong

How do you officiate the official?

Before you watch this clip, read this paragraph. It'll save you alot of time. Basically, this is a full contact karate match where the guy in black is handing the guy in white his ass the entire fight. Skip to the 2 minute 30 second mark and thats when it all goes wrong. Apparently, white gets tired of taking a beating. After the ref says break, white throws a punch at black, just so he can finally get a hit in. Illegal move right? Only if the ref sees it. But he doesnt. So what does black do? Responds with his own illegal attack. But the ref sees his and well...he aint happy.

In Case You Missed It

THIS is the recent match-up between Frank Shamrock and Cung Lee. And if you don't know who these guys are, shame on you. You'll have to scroll down and ignore the boobs.

Oh No Not Again

This is the kind of thing that weakens the art. I dont mind you believing in the flow of energy, but dont try and sell it to people and then make excuses when it doesnt work.

For the Kempo Enthusiast 2

This is a series of clips that examine several moves in Kempo and Kenpo and how they relate to each other. Some of these moves are not in the system I study, but they might be fun for spontaneous use or to sharpen the techniques we already have.

TKD is FUN

This is a mock-umentary about the world of TaeKwonDo and it looks pretty damn funny. Follow this link and also look for the main character's appearance on Conan O'Brien. That clip is on the same webpage somewhere. Hilarious!

Those Silly Ruskies

I have a lot of respect for the Speznaz. They are the Russian special forces and are some very dangerous characters. They even have their own martial arts system called...well, the System. I'm not saying it doesnt work. i'm just saying it doesn't LOOK like it works. Then again, neither does Aikido. Take a look for yourself and tell me if this, especially the slo-mo stuff, doesnt seem a little odd.

For the Kempo Enthusiast

THIS link takes you to a list of videos on various aspects and combinations in Kempo. The instructor breaks it down into easy-to-follow pieces and helps you understand the practical aspect of each move. He's a little rough around the edges but i like him.

My Top 5...Styles

Just click on the name of the style of martial art for a look into what its all about.

5. Aikido - Doesn't look like it should work but believe me it does! kind of like fighting the air or a ghost.

4. Capoeira- Not very practical but pretty as they come. Like fighting a reject from Saturday Night Fever.

3. Kyokushin-kai - The definition of power. Like fighting a tree...and getting hit my one.

2. JKD - Fluid and flexible. Open to almost anything. Like fighting water.

1. Kempo Karate - Duh! Lightning fast and accurate strikes with balanced motion. Like fighting a wood-chipper.

The Best Part Is, You Know They Pay Good Money For This...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hnClhhNk4I
I bet the guy can't even fight.

Warning: Not for the faint of heart...Kimbo 1

For those of you with weak constitutions or for those under 18, look away.
All others behold the power of the perfect counter-punch.
And for fans of gore, hang on for the last 5 seconds...and look close. Its not pretty. Eye spy with his little eye...

Kyokushin-kai

If you don't know that word, you need to learn it. Burn it into your memory. If you have 10 minutes to spare, follow these links and say hello to one of the most feared forms of martial arts on Earth.
THIS was their founder. Yes, he was crazy and yes, the bull lost.

THIS is a bit of their training and demonstrations. They tend to break whatever they hit.

And these are one two three examples of how much they love to challenge other styles, or, when no one else is around to hit, each other.

They don't punch to the face 'cause they think its too easy.

Bang Bang Bong Bong Danga-da-Dang

You gotta love Bas Rutten! I mean, I knew he could fight, but he's a singer too??? Buy his hit single "Don't don't you ever do this!" In stores now.

That Does It! I'm Buying A Gun!

Paul Vunak is one of the world's foremost experts on knife defense and assault. After THIS, I'm sticking to weapons with the world "caliber" in the name. "Run, hide or fly" indeed.

Speed AND Power?

I guess the question is, can you move THIS fast and still generate any kind of power? Or, at these speeds and with that kind of control, does it even matter?
Usually, fast hands, as is the case in THIS video, equals no power at all. Watch this guy closely, especially at the 00:36 second mark of the film. He's clearly just touching/rubbing/massaging/caressing his opponent. Slow-mo is a bad idea when you're trying to lie to me. Craptastic, in my opinion. Whats yours?

Its Hard To Walk Like A Pimp With A Concussion

THIS is an old one but since this is a new site, I thought some of you might have missed it.

He Had A Dream

...that one day, he could open a school, invite the world into his dojo, share his art with all who would listen (and likely pay a premium) and ultimately to retire with a 501-0 undefeated combat record. So he did just that. And for 20 years he remained untouched. And he saved his pennies until he had $5000 American...but then...THIS happened. Why, God? WHY?
